Fellow disc golfers,

Our job guiding the master plan for Bart -- to make sure the park remains disc golf friendly -- is almost finished.  Thanks to those who attended all the public meetings, we have three possible plans, any of which would be good for disc golf.  However, plan C is better than the others, as described below, so now we need you (and all your friends) to go to this website and vote for plan C:

Both plans B and C have enough space devoted to disc golf that we can restore the course to its original 18 hole format.  But plan C was specifically designed to combine this with the best features from plan A, things that East Austin has been asking for:

1. the larger dog leash-free area -- virtually all leash-free areas in Austin are currently west of I-35, 2. street improvements along 51st to slow traffic (it's now a raceway), and 3. added trail connections to get to the leash-free area.

If we all get behind plan C we can make sure the park remains available to disc golfers while also supporting amenities that East Austin needs.  Vote early and often!

LSDDGA members joined among 120 plus Austinites in supporting the Zilker Park's environment by adding fertilizer and mulch to more than 300 trees. It was a positive experience working with other people for 4 straight hours under 103 degrees sun. Then we closed with a lunch.

Instead, we need everyone to show up at the Pease Park public meeting. This is a huge opportunity for the disc golfers to show that we care about having disc golf at Pease Park and that we insist it remain a feature of the park once all the creek work is done.

Please don’t sit back and think that others will show up and save it for you. We need everyone there!!!
